Surgical Steel Sutures Surgical Steel sutures are non-absorbable, sterile, surgical sutures composed of high quality stainless steel. Because of its high tensile strength, it exhibits very minimal loss over time and has low tissue reactivity. surgical steel is available as a monofilament. Surgical Steel is recommended for surgeries ranging from orthopedic surgery to sternal closure. Due to its rigidity, extreme care should be used when handling surgical steel to avoid fragmentation, which could pose harm to both the surgeon and patient. Distinctive Characteristics of Surgical Steel Sutures: Steel sutures are for use in abdominal wound closure, intestinal anastomosis, hernia repair and sternal closure. These sutures comply with the requirements of U.S. Pharmacopoeia (U.S.P.) and The European Pharmacopoeia (PhEUR) except for an occassional slight deviation in diameter in some gauge sizes. Description Steel wire is a non-absorbable twisted or monofilament suture made of corrosion-resistant steel, for orthopaedic surgery. Steel wire is the basis for products like the Sternum Set.

Surgical Sutures
Linxwax is a sterile bone wax used to control bleeding from bone surfaces during surgical procedures by providing hemostasis from bone injury and cuts. It is made from a sterile mixture of beeswax, paraffin wax and isopropyl palmitate. It controls bleeding of the bone by blocking the pores and channels of cut or damaged bone. Linxwax effectively stops bleeding from bone surfaces through a tamponade effect and provides a viable option in terms of ease of application during surgeries. The ultra-soft material in Linxwax ensures excellent malleability. Its smooth consistency enables easy application during surgeries. It should not be used where rapid osseous regeneration and fusion are desired.
